Probably one of my favourite trips from 2020. Grah Probably one of my favourite trips from 2020. Graham and I did a 6-hour drive up to Inverness to see Urquhart Castle and back again. The rain and mist over Loch Ness may have put some people off, but we loved it. We call weather like this ‘Prisoner of Azkaban’ weather – which I assume you can see why!⠀
 ⠀
We’d seen the castle before when we were staying in Inverness for a couple of days but never got the chance to go inside, so we were determined to go back and see it. I can’t wait to go on adventures like this again.
I’ve always loved winter but I have to say I am I’ve always loved winter but I have to say I am looking forward to spring. I can’t wait for lighter evenings and walks after dinner. Seems like such a small thing but I’ve missed it! ⁣So it’s goodbye to the snow and hello to spring.

Last week I think I became the bird whisperer. Most days on my lunch hour I was sitting with the window wide open (freezing because of the snow) patiently waiting for some birds to come into the garden. Tiring but I did manage to get some got photos (robin being my favourite). And yes, the robin is standing on a clothesline!
Taking pictures of birds has been my go-to for sel Taking pictures of birds has been my go-to for self-care the past week. But oh do they move fast. I have a lot to learn to get pictures of these beautiful creatures!⠀

I’m finding writing captions more and more difficult. Recently all I've been able to say is I have no motivation for this and that. I hope things get better, or I wish I could go back to [insert place here that I can't get to].⠀

It's starting to feel very Bill Murray in Groundhog Day now. I'm telling myself to shhh most of the time and try to at least sound happy. But it is hard when every day is the same thing and there's nothing to look forward to.⠀
 ⠀
We need something cheerful, even if it's small. My little bit of happiness this week came from attempting to bird watch from my living room window. And I saw a great spotted woodpecker! What little thing has made you smile this week?l
⠀ It’s still okay to post pictures of snow rig ⠀
It’s still okay to post pictures of snow right? It’s still wintery! The snow helped with my lack of inspiration for taking photos again, but as soon as it melted all the inspiration left too. Let’s hope something else will come along and inspire me but for now it’s quiet.⠀
 ⠀
When I did get out in the garden to take some photos, there was such a lovely soft feeling to all the photos I was taking. As I was taking a picture of the bee house with it’s little snowy roof, a little friend appeared. Misty Blue is my neighbour’s cat who (we now know) absolutely loves snow! She’s a little tricky to get a photo of as she must always be moving, always playing, always hugging. But she’s lovely.
I could have stayed here forever. The low clouds o I could have stayed here forever. The low clouds over the mountains and a freezing cold Loch to sit beside and ponder life. I can’t wait to go back here, soon please!⠀

I made the big decision this week to move my website over to WordPress. Thankfully it’s not been too much of a hassle moving things over. By the end of this week the domain is transferred and it’ll be ready to go live!⠀

Same Bilbo, same. I miss being able to see something other than my bedroom’s walls, or where my only difference of the day is going to the living room to watch a couple of episodes of Modern Family before bed.⠀

It’s very difficult to look after yourself right now. Music has been helping me. I’ve started listening again to the amazing Finnish music I listened to when I was a teenager. Can’t get enough of HIM and Nightwish right now. ⠀
